I'm a student journalist from Bournemouth...Hi,

I'm a student journalist from Bournemouth University and my supervisor, Vanessa Edwards, told me about you.

For a project, I'm researching the effects of Bollywood in UK, and I was wondering if I could speak to you regarding the same.

I apologise for leaving it as a comment, I realise it's not the best way to get in touch, but I've tried a lot to look for your email id and couldn't find it!

My email id is bollywoodjourno@gmail.com. I think it will help me and my project greatly if I can get an academic approach such as yours to Bollywood.

Thank you so much. I hope you will be able to give me some of your time!

- Ekta ValechaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18148275002812534421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2823892684510738201.post-37074194041884661792010-03-10T23:50:38.828+00:002010-03-10T23:50:38.828+00:00Thanks. I think I am always shocked at the level o...Thanks. I think I am always shocked at the level of misogyny that exists in Europe and US on a daily basis. For me this is because there is only a narrow definition of power, and even narrower views of gender roles. And I always count my blessings that I grew up with very strong role models (including Indira Gandhi who was the prime minister when I was a child).Sunny Singhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02687722552329432572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2823892684510738201.post-40983397095853416192010-03-10T22:24:42.768+00:002010-03-10T22:24:42.768+00:00I love the "mythical 'equality'"...I love the "mythical 'equality'" phrase, there is a lot of that going on. I have just accepted that men and women are not equal, without this meaning that I support or agree with it. No, but life is so much easier when we women just realise that this is the way things are. Great that we don't have to stand by the stove all day and feed the family and that we've been given the vote and several other rights. But other things take longer to change and it's as if we're in a fake world believing we're equal to men. And yes, we often see the big country in the West as the democracy ruler and guiding star, but there are lots of lessons to be learnt from countries with history and culture and where minorities and women for that matter seem to have gone much further in the strive to equality. Very interesting post and gave me lots of insight into India that I knew so little about.Greekfoodloverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08222025012076021393noreply@blogger.com
