The lyrics are sufi which means its not really a "happy" or even "romantic" song although it definitely has a positive beat.Sunny Singhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02687722552329432572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2823892684510738201.post-13740721008508524782008-12-05T20:08:00.000+00:002008-12-05T20:08:00.000+00:00I think that Spike Lee uses it to get across this ...I think that Spike Lee uses it to get across this almost mythical scope of this heist. Yes, this is a huge case of Lost in Translation. By mythical i mean (to the american audience) a foreign song, almost tribal? I completley understand that this is anything but. However, Spike Lee uses music very specifically. Take "Do the Right Thing", for example, and Public Enemy's "Fight the Power." But unless I am wrong, the song itself, taken out of context of "Dil Se" is a happy song, and the idea that nothing bad is going to happen is not a bad one.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03847920549421599840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2823892684510738201.post-6833210191305839142008-07-02T07:12:00.000+01:002008-07-02T07:12:00.000+01:00I love chaiyya chaiyya, I don't know why they shou...I love chaiyya chaiyya, I don't know why they should use it in a place which does not belong to?!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2823892684510738201.post-35918122283781525262008-07-02T07:11:00.000+01:002008-07-02T07:11:00.000+01:00I love chaiyya chaiyya, I don't know why they shou...I love chaiyya chaiyya, I don't know why they should use it in a place which does not belong to?!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2823892684510738201.post-85037475864285142752007-03-13T04:12:00.000+00:002007-03-13T04:12:00.000+00:00I was also "forced" to watch Inside Man recently. ...I was also "forced" to watch Inside Man recently. Enjoyed some parts of the flick but the most memorable parts of the experience were the beginning and ending with Chaiyya Chaiyya -- it was simply great! Since then got Dil Se from NetFlix [lots of fun -- loved the Chaiyya bit with the train]. I say -- hurray for globalization -- bring it on!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
